About us

The German NGO Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Ruanda e.V. developed from a working group that was founded in 1999 in the municipality of Alfter (near Bonn) to help Rwandan orphans who had lost their parents due to the genocide in the spring of 1994.

Since the founding of a registered association in 2016, the entire project work of Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Ruanda e.V. has been coordinated and supervised by the board members and other active members in Düsseldorf as well as our local partners in Rwanda.

The members work in small teams and engage themselves in different ways, e.g. by looking after the website, fundraising, presenting the project in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area, administration and technical / organizational support of the NGO’s database, etc.

All members in Germany work purely on a voluntary basis for the NGO and meet at least once a month in person or via video conference.

All meetings are recorded in minutes.
