The NGO Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Ruanda e.V. was founded on 08.09.2016 in Düsseldorf/Germany.

For our common understanding, the members of the association have agreed on the following values, according to which we live and work.

Equality (core value)

For us, all people – regardless of their cultural, social, religious and societal background – are equal. That is why we are committed to countering the imbalance in the world and doing our part to create a fairer world.

Duty of Care

Working for Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Ruanda means getting involved with socially disadvantaged people in a developing country. We see children as the future of every society, every country, every continent. It is therefore our goal to enable them to develop and lead a self-determined life.

Transparency

To create trust in our work, it is important to us to present all our activities openly.

The use of our financial resources can be verified by means of appropriate receipts and can be viewed in the annual financial report. We ensure that 100% of all sponsorship contributions benefit the respective sponsored child, in particular by financing the respective fees for school, training or studies.

Another aspect of our transparent way of working is regular personal contact with our sponsored children. We know all the children who are supported by us or the respective sponsors personally and, if desired, we can also establish direct contact between the child and their sponsors.

Self-efficacy

Our motivation is to give children who have to grow up under difficult living conditions due to their background the chance of a carefree life. In addition to a healthy diet, education is at the forefront of what we do. We believe that education can create a way out of poverty. Because only those who can educate themselves can create a solid economic basis for a self-determined and free life in today’s world.
